Okra Cowhorn grows vigorous plants reaching 6 to 8 feet tall at maturity, producing long, slender, medium green ribbed pods with spines that snap off easily when harvested before becoming over mature. These tender pods can reach up to 10 inches in length, offering a generous yield. If plants become too tall after the initial heavy harvest, cutting back stems to 6 to 12 inches encourages a robust second crop in the fall. Similar to Louisiana okra, it matures in about 60 days and boasts a germination rate of approximately 80% or higher. This heirloom variety thrives in warm-season gardens and adapts well to diverse growing conditions. The plants' vigorous growth habit and extended pod production make Okra Cowhorn an excellent choice for both home gardeners and those seeking reliable harvests throughout the season. Our Non-GMO seeds promote sustainable gardening practices, ensuring you're cultivating food with integrity. The packaging is designed to be environmentally and climate friendly, reusable, and recyclable, reflecting our commitment to responsible seed stewardship and reducing environmental impact.

This is an heirloom seed, meaning it has been passed down from generation to generation for at least 75 years. As a rule, heirloom seeds taste better and will grow the same year after year.

These are also open pollinated meaning they will reproduce themselves. While all heirlooms are open pollinated not all open pollinated seeds are heirlooms.

Freshly Packed: These okra seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.
