Corn Sweet Double Standard is the first bi-color, open-pollinated sweet corn. Early maturing with strong germination in cool soil.

It is based on a nice yellow corn called Burnell that was grown in Maine in the early 1900's and an early white heirloom from New York's St. Lawrence Valley. 

Corn Sweet Double Standard produces nice-sized, averaging 7 inch, ears with 12 to 14 rows of yellow and white kernels, some ears with yellow kernels only.

Unlike the seeds of hybrid bi-color corn, which are all yellow, these are yellow and white. If desired, you can have early, all-white corn simply by planting only white kernels.

Excellent traditional corn taste. Vigorous 5 foot plants.

Harvest in about 75 days. Germination rate about 80% or better.

This is an heirloom seed, meaning it has been passed down from generation to generation for at least 75 years. As a rule, heirloom seeds taste better and will grow the same year after year.

These are also open pollinated meaning they will reproduce themselves. While all heirlooms are open pollinated not all open pollinated seeds are heirlooms.
