Flower Native Texas Greenthread 100 Non-GMO, Heirloom Seeds
Greenthread is a native Texas wildflower prized for its resilience and extended bloom season. This warm-season annual or short-lived perennial reaches 1–3 feet tall, producing vibrant yellow flowers with distinctive brown-to-reddish centers throughout spring, summer, and fall. Its threadlike foliage gives the plant its memorable name and adds textural interest to any landscape. Exceptionally drought-tolerant, greenthread thrives on dry, rocky soils over limestone—making it ideal for water-conscious gardeners and naturalized plantings across the Texas Hill Country and beyond. It's a powerhouse pollinator attractant, drawing bees and butterflies throughout its long blooming window (February–November). Plant in fall for best establishment and germination rates of 60% or better. Our Non-GMO, heirloom seeds are sustainably grown and packaged in environmentally responsible, reusable, and recyclable materials. David's Garden Seeds, a Veteran-owned company since 2009, stands behind every packet with a commitment to quality and ecological stewardship.

This is an heirloom seed, meaning it has been passed down from generation to generation for at least 75 years. As a rule, heirloom seeds taste better and will grow the same year after year.
These are also open pollinated meaning they will reproduce themselves. While all heirlooms are open pollinated not all open pollinated seeds are heirlooms.
Freshly Packed: These seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.
