Native American Mistflower Blue attracts butterflies and pollinators of all types, making it a cornerstone plant for any pollinator garden. Conoclinium coelestinum (Blue Mistflower) is an upright, spreading perennial boasting an abundance of small, fluffy, bright blue or violet flowers held in flat clusters from midsummer through late fall. The ageratum-like blossoms are carried atop purplish stems and attract impressive numbers of bees and butterflies. They grow above dense foliage of coarsely-toothed, somewhat triangular, bright green leaves. Native to the central and southeastern United States, Blue Mistflower adds vital color to the late season garden when many other plants are starting to fade. This variety grows in part shade from the east side of I-35 to the Atlantic Coast in moist, well-drained soils, and also thrives in sun with good moisture—it simply needs some freedom to spread. Wildflower seeds perform better when planted in the fall for spring growing. Blooms in about 90 days with a germination rate of 70% or better. These non-GMO, heirloom seeds are sustainable and support native plant restoration efforts. Our environmentally friendly, climate-friendly, reusable, and recyclable packaging reflects our commitment to responsible seed stewardship.

This is an heirloom seed, meaning it has been passed down from generation to generation for at least 75 years. As a rule, heirloom seeds taste better and will grow the same year after year.

These are also open pollinated meaning they will reproduce themselves. While all heirlooms are open pollinated not all open pollinated seeds are heirlooms.

Freshly Packed: These native American seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.
