Burdock Takinogawa has been grown for centuries, primarily in China and Japan, for its culinary and medicinal uses. This variety does not bolt when sown in the fall.
Burdock Takinogawa is loved for its crisp roots, tender leaves, and robust stems. It is a late maturing variety with 36 to 48 inch long roots and a rich flavor.
It is the most popular variety in Japan where it is used fresh in salad and has a pleasant earthy aroma.
Nutritious, medicinal, and a unique Asian specialty. For fall, winter, and spring harvest and storage. Can be overwintered in soil, much the same as parsnips. Cook like carrots.
Delicious in hearty soups and bean stews. Uniform variety. Long and slender, light-brown roots.
Harvest in about 120 days. Germination rate is about 80% or better.
