Waltham Butternut Winter Squash is the standard butternut. Light tan-colored winter squash with small seed cavities and thick, cylindrical necks without crooks. Uniform fruits avg. 9" long, average 4 to 5 pounds. The flesh is smooth-textured and has a unique sweet flavor, particularly after 2 months' storage. This 1970 All-America Selections winner from Massachusetts is still deservedly the most widely grown full-size butternut. Avg. yield: 4-5 fruits/plant. Harvest in about 105 days. Germination rate about 80% or better.
