Grown by Thomas Jefferson from 1809 when he retired, and then every year thereafter until his death in 1826,

Costoluto Genovese is the definition of heirloom. Considered an oddity in today's vegetable garden, this variety showcases a deeply ridged, heavily lobed fruit characteristic of early 19th-century tomatoes.

A standard in Italy for both fresh eating and preserving, Costoluto Genovese Tomatoes are known for their intensely flavorful, deep red flesh.

Germination rate about 80% or better. Harvest in about 60 days.

Our Non-GMO seeds are sustainable. Our packaging is environmentally friendly, climate friendly, reusable, and recyclable.

We cannot possibly put all the directions you need for growing slicing tomatoes in your area on the seed package. We recommend that you read articles or check with other gardeners in your area.

This is an heirloom seed, meaning it has been passed down from generation to generation for at least 75 years. As a rule, heirloom seeds taste better and will grow the same year after year.

These are also open pollinated meaning they will reproduce themselves. While all heirlooms are open pollinated not all open pollinated seeds are heirlooms.

Freshly Packed: These tomato seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.
