Bring a little tomato harvest to a sunny patio with Tiny Tim Cherry Tomato. This dwarf determinate variety produces small, bright red cherry tomatoes on compact plants, making it a practical choice for containers and small gardens. The existing variety guidance lists plants approximately 8–16 inches tall and maturity around 60 days from transplant under suitable conditions; actual growth and timing vary. Enjoy the harvested fruit fresh, in salads, or lightly cooked. Each packet contains 100 non-GMO heirloom seeds.

Germination Rate: 84%. Test Date: 6/26. JSS.

Texas Minimum Germination Rate: 75%

Why Choose Tiny Tim Cherry Tomato?

  • Dwarf Growth: Short, compact plants fit sunny patios and space-conscious gardens without the sprawling vines of full-size tomatoes.
  • Determinate Habit: Plants tend toward a concentrated crop on manageable growth, although harvest timing depends on conditions.
  • Red Cherry Fruit: Small tomatoes are convenient for fresh salads, snacking, and quick skillet dishes.
  • Container-Friendly: Grow in a well-drained pot where sunlight, moisture, and nutrients can be managed closely.
  • Accessible Harvest: Compact plants keep fruit near the pot and easy to reach.
  • Heirloom Seed: Grow an open-pollinated variety; seed saving requires suitable isolation and selection to maintain variety characteristics.

Planting Tips for Success

  • Start Indoors: Sow about 6–8 weeks before your planned transplant date, approximately 1/4 inch deep in seed-starting mix. Keep evenly moist and provide strong light after emergence.
  • Harden Off: Introduce seedlings gradually to outdoor conditions and transplant after frost danger passes and soil warms.
  • Sunlight: Choose a location with 6–8 hours of direct sun. A bright-looking indoor window may not provide sufficient light for productive growth.
  • Container and Soil: Use a roomy container with drainage holes and quality potting mix. Larger soil volume helps buffer moisture changes.
  • Airflow: Leave room around each plant rather than crowding dense foliage, and remove damaged leaves as needed.
  • Watering: Check pots frequently and water at soil level when needed. Avoid prolonged dryness and waterlogged roots.
  • Support: Add a short stake or small cage if fruit-bearing branches need help.
  • Fertilizing: Follow soil-test recommendations or container fertilizer label directions. Excess nitrogen can favor leaves over fruit.
  • Pruning: Avoid heavy pruning of determinate plants; retain healthy foliage to support and shade the crop.
  • Harvest: Pick tomatoes when uniformly red and ripe, then wash before preparing.
