Why Choose Cherry Belle Radish?
- Bright Red Roots: Round roots with red skin and white flesh add color to fresh meals.
- Crisp Texture: Harvest promptly at a useful size for satisfying crunch.
- Quick Maturity: Approximately 24–25 days under favorable conditions makes successive sowing practical.
- Small-Space Friendly: Grow in raised beds or suitable containers with loose soil and good drainage.
- Heirloom and Non-GMO: A traditional open-pollinated variety for the home garden; seed saving requires appropriate isolation and allowing selected plants to mature seed.
Planting Tips for Success
- Timing: Direct sow during cool spring or fall weather. Follow local conditions and avoid prolonged heat.
- Sunlight: Provide at least 6 hours of direct sun where possible.
- Soil: Choose loose, fertile, well-drained soil free of stones and large clods.
- Sowing: Sow approximately 1/2 inch deep and thin seedlings to about 2 inches apart.
- Watering: Keep soil evenly moist without waterlogging. Adjust watering for rainfall and soil conditions.
- Fertilizing: Follow soil-test guidance and avoid excess nitrogen that favors leaves over roots.
- Succession Planting: Sow small batches every 7–10 days while cool weather remains suitable.
- Harvesting: Start checking around 24 days and pull roots at approximately 1 inch across. Remove tops and refrigerate roots promptly.
- Containers: Use drainage holes and sufficient soil depth for root growth. Monitor moisture frequently.
