Field Trips, Tours and Classes
Come See Us!
We offer field trips, tours, and classes at David's Garden Seeds® farm. We have animals, a garden area, composting area, worm garden, keyhole garden and orchard. Tour cost is $3 per person. Children aged two and under are free.
Sit by the pond and relax, enjoy our gazebo for an outdoor picnic or party, and shop our retail store.

What Are We Close To?
If you will be vacationing in or near San Antonio, we are about an hour away from The Alamo City. So if you will be coming to San Antonio to visit the Alamo, The Riverwalk, SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, or some of the area colleges, make plans to drive an hour out to Poteet, the Strawberry Capital of Texas and visit us.
If you are here in early April for the Poteet Strawberry Festival, which is a three day event, plan to come by and visit us. We are about 12 miles away from the Fairgrounds where the Festival is held.
We are 43 minutes and 40 miles from the San Antonio Zoo.
We are 47 minutes and 41 miles from the UT Health and Science Center.
We are 50 minutes and 43.3 miles from UTSA.
We are 53 minutes and 49.7 miles from Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
We are 48 minutes and 33.2 miles away from SeaWorld San Antonio.
We are 47 minutes and 38.2 miles from Downtown San Antonio, The Alamo, and The Riverwalk.
The city of Hondo is 38 minutes and 36.6 miles from us.
We are 1 hour and 18 minutes which is 76 miles from Bandera, Texas, also known as The Cowboy Capital of Texas.
We lived in San Antonio for 20 years before we moved out to our farm. In fact, David was born there and moved out to Leakey in the Texas Hill Country when he was 12 and my mother-in-law inherited property. We are about 100 minutes and 95 miles from Leakey if you go through Hondo to Devine. If you are in Devine, you can get here in about 20 minutes.
If you are traveling to the coast for some beach time, we are on the way. You will need to hit I-37 to get the on ramp for that freeway is in Pleasanton. We are roughly 25 miles from there.
Just type 5029 FM 2504, Poteet, Texas into your GPS and come see us, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
So we are not out as far as you may think. Come see us!

In the future, we plan to offer classes in our farm classroom. It's equipped with a kitchen so children can learn how to cook the foods they have picked in the garden. We'll also teach how to can and store food.
In the summer and fall, we will offer classes on what things grow well here in Texas as well as canning classes. We will can with our harvests.
