Not only do violas make a good bedding plant, the blossoms are edible—their delicate, wintergreen flavor is wonderful when used as a colorful garnish on salads and desserts.

Annual varieties are available in a striking range of colors from pastel and rose to cream, purple, plum, and gold. Many of these annual varieties perform well when overwintered, demonstrating long stems excellent for spring bouquets.
