The easiest Echinacea to grow is Echinacea Purpurea. It  germinates without stratification. Vigorous plants with large, purple-petaled flowers. Fibrous roots are easy to harvest (other species have taproots). It grows to a height of 24 to 36 inches. A seven day stratification enhances germination, but is not critical.
